Contaminations have been on the rise for several days.

For the moment, this does not affect admissions to critical care, only conventional hospitalizations.

On Tuesday, 180,000 new cases were identified in France.

A constantly rising figure, even if all regions are not affected in the same way.

This is the bad news for this month of March.

After having lifted almost all of all the restrictions, contaminations have been on the rise for several weeks and this is not about to stop.

Olivier Véran announced that this increase should last until the end of March.

Brittany is the most affected region

But the figures show disparities between regions.

Ile-de-France is the region most spared for the moment by this resumption of the epidemic.

The incidence rate, the number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants, is 600. The school holidays which ended 15 days ago in zone C have slowed down the circulation of the virus.

On the other hand, in Hauts-de-France, Grand-Est, Normandy, the incidence rate exceeds 1,000 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

In Brittany, it even reaches 1,500.

This is the region most affected by this epidemic rebound.

There is a precise reason, as explained by Alain Le Tertre, director of the Breton cell of Public Health France: "The fact that people have not been infected much before, can contribute to the fact that despite vaccination, there are people who are positive. And we know that the vaccine alone does not have optimal protection against infections.

In Brittany, as everywhere in France, non-critical care hospitalizations are increasing.

On average 1,000 admissions per day.

That's 10% more than last week.
