An evacuation accommodation is accommodation where refugees can live while waiting for more long-term accommodation.
Strängnäs municipality has chosen the sports hall as an evacuation accommodation as it is close to the center, service and activities.
Offer support calls
Sara Palani, who is a youth counselor at the Support and Action Youth unit, explains that they are there to support those who move into the accommodation.
- We have thought that we should be able to offer support calls, we should be able to ensure that the children have activities to do.
It should be as normal an everyday life as possible for them, because many people will be traumatized.
