China News Service, March 22 (Reporter Kan Feng) MU5735 on March 21 never arrived at its destination again.

For nearly 30 hours, any information about the flight has been the focus of public opinion.

On the afternoon of the 22nd, a large number of photos from the crash site in Wuzhou were troubling. The ground was covered with debris of the plane, but there was no news of the 132 people on board.

Take off, the disaster came so unexpectedly

Turn the clock back 30 hours.

At noon on March 21, 2022, the temperature in Kunming, the spring city, has climbed to 256 degrees, with a clear sky and a breeze.

China Eastern Airlines flight MU5735 parked at Changshui Airport, waiting for the flight to Guangzhou Baiyun Airport at 13:10.

This Boeing 737-800 passenger plane belongs to China Eastern Airlines Yunnan Company. The painted peacock on the fuselage echoes the Eastern Airlines flying swallow logo on the tail, which is particularly eye-catching in the sun.

The plane has 12 business class and 148 economy class seats. There are 123 passengers boarding the flight to Guangzhou this time. Under the epidemic, this is already a relatively high attendance rate.

So far, there is not much information about the passengers on the plane, but according to the fragmented reports of the media, some scenes of the flight can still be linked together.

Among the 123 passengers were locals from Yunnan, as well as foreigners who were transferred to Guangzhou.

Mr. Wen's wife boarded the plane.

Jimu News reported that the couple were both from Wenshan, Yunnan, and they worked hard in Guangzhou. They had just been married for five months.

According to the plan, the wife returned to Guangzhou for work on the 21st flight MU5735.

According to the report of Xiaoxiang Morning News, Mr. Lin's sister from Dehong, Yunnan was also on this flight. The 36-year-old sister is preparing to get married. This time, she is going to reunite with her fiance who is working in Guangzhou.

Also aboard the plane were the nine crew members of MU5735.

Mr. Rong's wife is a first-class flight attendant on this flight. Before the plane took off, his wife, who had been flying for ten years, spoke to her husband on the phone and said, "I'm about to fly."

Everything is an ordinary life scene.

At 13:15, MU5735, which was delayed for 5 minutes, took off smoothly. According to the route monitored by Air Travel, the plane quickly flew out of Yunnan and passed through Baise and Laibin in Guangxi.

At 14:20, the voyage that was about to fly out of Guangxi suddenly stopped updating over Wuzhou...

Disappeared, lost contact, crashed... Then, the rapidly updated MU5735 information on the Internet shattered everyone's "business as usual" life.

  Disaster just came so unexpectedly.

In the air, two 'extremely abnormal' minutes

The official crash time of MU5735 is "14:38". From 13:15 to 14:38, no one knows what the 132 people on MU5735 experienced during these 83 minutes.

Nearly 30 hours since the incident, the flight left the public with only the extremely abnormal flight data——

After takeoff, MU5735, which had been cruising at an altitude of about 8869 meters, suddenly dropped from the cruising altitude at 14:19, and the flight speed started to drop from about 845 kilometers per hour.

At 14:21, the flight lost the ADS-B radar signal and lost contact with the ground.

In addition, according to the global flight monitoring software Flightradar24, in the last few minutes of data recording, the descending speed of MU5735 reached tens of thousands of feet per minute.

  What is this concept?

Usually the descent rate of a passenger plane is 2,000-3,000 feet per minute, "it's very big when it reaches four or five thousand feet," explained a captain.

At present, the intuitive picture that the public can see is a surveillance picture circulating on the Internet: an object shaped like an airplane rushes into the forest almost vertically, and the falling process can be seen only for a few seconds.

The video comes from a camera set up by a mining company 1km away from where the plane crashed.

However, it has not been officially confirmed whether the object that fell instantly in the picture is MU5735.

As far as the aircraft itself is concerned, the 737-800 that fell in the mountains of Wuzhou is the main aircraft of Boeing's single-aisle model, and it is also the most used Boeing passenger aircraft in China.

The information "6.8 years old" shows that the plane is not an old plane.

Regarding the piloting experience of the crew, The Paper quoted an article from China Civil Aviation Network in 2018 that Zhang Moumou, the co-pilot of the flight, was the "five-star captain" of China Eastern Airlines Yunnan Co., Ltd. "He is one of the few veteran pilots. One, is the master of the young captains."

The aircraft is young and the crew is experienced, and the current information can hardly give people any clues to solve the puzzle.

Along with the disappearance of MU5735, there is also the world-leading safety flight record of China's civil aviation.

Prior to this, the continuous safe flight time of China's civil aviation transport aviation has exceeded 100 million hours.

On the evening of the 21st, the Civil Aviation Administration of China issued an emergency notice, requiring immediate and comprehensive investigation of hidden dangers and enhancement of aviation safety.

In the early morning of the 22nd, more than 70 experts arrived in Wuzhou with a large number of rescue forces.

This is another air crash investigation that has attracted worldwide attention.

Ground, "debris, all debris"

On the afternoon of the 21st, in Guangzhou, the anxious Mr. Wen was preparing to drive to Wuzhou to wait for the news of his wife. His father-in-law and mother-in-law also planned to go directly to the scene from his hometown in Yunnan.

After learning of the accident on the plane that his wife was flying, Mr. Rong rushed to China Eastern Airlines to wait for news.

Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, Kunming Changshui Airport, many family members of passengers rushed to the airport to inquire about their relatives.

At the scene of the incident in Wuzhou, a major rescue that affected the whole country was launched.

The forces of firefighting, medical care, electricity, communications and even the military all quickly assembled to Molang Village, Langnan Town, Teng County, Wuzhou, where MU5735 crashed.

On the evening of the 21st, hundreds of rescue vehicles were parked in Molang Village.

On the same day, Li Chenbin, a network technician from Guangxi Mobile who happened to be working here, turned from an eyewitness to a rescuer on the spot.

With lingering fears, he tried to describe the scene of the incident to reporters: "'Boom', the sound was very loud, especially loud, the kind that shook the glass."

"The entire plane has been scattered, all debris, very scattered." Li Chenbin, who witnessed the crash for the first time, immediately called the police.

The villagers of Molang Village also participated in the rescue on the spot. Because of the rugged mountain road, the villagers spontaneously organized a motorcycle team of more than 60 people to carry rescuers free of charge.

Team member Li Sangzhi was also one of the witnesses. "You can see all kinds of debris and cloth strips on the ground far away from the fire."

With the advance of rescue and the arrival of media reporters, more news about the core area of the crash came from the mountains in Wuzhou.

The crash site is in the middle of the mountain, and there is a large crater on the hillside that was hit by the impact, and there are obvious burn marks.

On the hilltop of Mocong Village, Conan Town, rescuers marked the wreckage of the plane and found the wreckage of the plane and the wallets, ID cards, bank cards and other personal items of the missing persons.

  Where are the people?

This is everyone's biggest concern.

However, so far, there has been no information on the victims or survivors of the crash.

On the 22nd, it rained lightly in Wuzhou, and a reporter who arrived at the core area of search and rescue sent a live video. The scene of the incident was covered with debris, and the words "China Eastern Airlines" were vaguely visible on a larger piece of debris.

"I really don't know how to describe it in my heart... I saw a lot of aircraft parts along the way... There are plane wrecks everywhere." In the video, the male reporter choked back tears.

On the 22nd, many hotels in Tengxian County, Wuzhou were arranged as temporary reception hotels for the families of flight passengers, and many family members of passengers have arrived here.

They continued to wait closer to their relatives, waiting for all the news from Molang Village.

The latest information is that the State Council investigation team will hold a press conference on the evening of the 22nd.
