Jokkmokk municipal councilor Robert Bernhardsson (S) believes that the government's yes message about a mine in Kallak is clear and good.

- It exceeded my expectations.

They make clear demands on the company, he says.

The municipal council now expects that the company will work actively to meet the environmental requirements set for a mine in Sweden - and that they do this from Jokkmokk.

- That is, you immediately create jobs and recruit people who work constructively with these issues that are so important, says Bernhardsson.

MP: "Day of mourning for the Sami people"

Henrik Blind (MP), who sits on the municipal council, however, believes that the government has betrayed the Sami villages in Jokkmokk.

He hopes that the decision will be appealed.

- This is a day of mourning for the Sami people and a day of shame for the government.

The decision contains conditions for reindeer husbandry to be carried out, what do you say about that?

- I quickly looked through the points.

It felt more like it was communication that came from the mining company than from the Swedish government.

The affected Sami villages have clearly explained the impact that a mine has on reindeer husbandry.
