In the clip: Hear Johan Kullander talk about how security work has been scaled up in Karlstad's school world in recent years.

Much of the safety in the schools is about evacuation in the event of a fire, but in recent years the safety work has been expanded and it will take place even more in the future.

In June, all staff within Karlstad municipality's schools will carry out the training on ongoing fatal violence (PDV) and also train evacuation, which in short means that in an emergency you must lock yourself in rooms or halls and lock and / or barricade the door.

- We start with the upper secondary schools and then after that the primary schools will also have the same education.

The idea with this is that we should act the same regardless of which school you work at, says Marty Lundin, safety coordinator at Karlstad municipality.

Students are not educated

However, students will not complete the training.

- As we believe that it can possibly be perceived as unpleasant and that it could also possibly inspire someone.

So the emphasis will be on all staff being given tools to better handle an armed attack on a school, says Lundin.

In addition, an app is underway that will serve as a fast internal communication channel in an emergency.

It is planned to be used at upper secondary school level this autumn.
