The first alarm was received around 13.18 when a barn was on fire at Borshult, by Såganässjön in Älmhult municipality.
- Some had burned grass but did not really have control so it spread to a barn, says Roger Petersson who is the task leader at the rescue service in Älmhult.
Problems with alarm
According to the rescue service, there is no home in close proximity to the barn and no person was injured in connection with the fire.
On the other hand, the rescue service in Älmhult tells SVT that SOS had problems with the emergency alarm during the day.
At first they were referred to Pjätteryd and Delaray, but then found that it was at Borshult that the barn fire took place.
Fire in Högsby and at a sawmill
Around half past one the alarm came about a fire in a small building in Högsby municipality but no person was injured in connection with the fire.
Around two o'clock another alarm was received about a fire, but this time in a sawmill outside Piggaboda in Alvesta municipality.
- The fire was started by a fire outside which spread to a chip storage.
There was no big fire, it was mostly the roof that burned off, says Anders Altberg who is the task leader at Värend's rescue service.
Around 15 o'clock the fire was under control and no person was injured.
