Dubai Hospital doctors were able to restore the normal breathing of a 3-year-old Gulf child who had been suffering from a complete blockage of the larynx since birth, and severe shortness of breath before coming to Dubai for treatment.

Dr. Jamal Qasouma, a consultant otolaryngologist at Dubai Hospital, who performed the surgery, explained that the operation was performed four months ago, where the cartilage set was implanted in the front of the larynx and trachea longitudinally, and a splint was placed on the larynx for two months to maintain the shape, and two days ago the splint was removed And announcing the complete success of the operation, as the child was able to speak and breathe normally.

He said that the child left the hospital yesterday and is in good health, but now he needs medical follow-up after a month, and laryngotracheal endoscopy to ensure that there are no constrictions or scarring after surgery, noting that re-manufacturing the larynx and trachea is a medical technique that works to provide a conduit Safe and stable oral antenna without the aid of the tube in the neck.

He explained that the child visited Dubai Hospital due to the good reputation that the hospital enjoys in treating such cases and the successes achieved by the hospital in this field.
