With the curtain coming down on Expo 2020 Dubai, the Brazil pavilion hosted a live cooking show by celebrity chef and TV personality Goja Rocha, who showcased traditional cuisine from the Pampa biome in southern Brazil and prepared dishes unknown to the Middle East.

The Rocha show is the sixth and final in a series of live cooking demonstrations organized by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (APEX-Brasil) at the Brazilian Pavilion.

The series of presentations featured unique cuisines and their special ingredients from the six biomes of Brazil.

For his part, Director of the Brazil Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, Rafael Nascimento, said: “The series of culinary shows aimed to show the audience on the global stage that Brazil has much more to offer than just the Amazon Basin, as we have an amazing diversity, and it is often overlooked. ».

He added, "Through Chef Rocha's delicious recipes and wonderful personality, we hope that people will get to know more about the (Pampa) region and its many delicious dishes."

On the sidelines of the culinary show, Rocha emphasized that the (Pampa) biome is characterized by vast grasslands in the far south of Brazil, which enhances its plant and animal diversity.

The chef, whose passion for preparing traditional Brazilian dishes is a source of inspiration for many, added: “Brazilian cuisine is known for its great diversity between regions, and even we chefs do not know all the culinary arts in our country, as we are still exploring the many ingredients that it has.

In my opinion, the best way to get to know the culture of an area is to try the dishes prepared by its indigenous people.”

He continued, “The authentic Brazilian dishes are influenced by many cuisines, including African, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese and Lebanese.

Moreover, Brazilian dishes are evolving and becoming lighter, fresher and more modern, making them less expensive and more popular.”

Rocha gave the audience of the Brazil pavilion, who participated in a busy program in the "Expo Dubai", tips on several Brazilian dishes from different regions that must be tried, including the Brazilian grill dish, the fish dish Moqueca, the classic food dish Feijoada, and the indigenous Amazonian dish Tacaca, in addition to To the chicken dish with the original piki fruit from central Brazil, which has a strong and pungent flavour.

Rocha is known for his ability to combine authentic Brazilian flavors with flavors from around the world and create innovative ways to create delicious traditional dishes.
