CAIRO -

While some actors suffer from "gluttony" due to the multiplicity of their cinematic and dramatic works, there are others who have receded from the lights of fame and disappeared behind the clouds of oblivion. prospects.

Painful stories

The past few days, social networking sites in Egypt have been filled with painful stories and tales of some actors, who talked about their tragedies with poverty, disease, distress, and the paralytic control of the artistic community.

Among them is the artist Samir Sabri - who said in a telephone interview with the media, Basma Wahba, on the "90 Minutes" program on Al-Mehwar TV, that he no longer has what he spends on his treatment, and that he sold everything he owned - as he said - on the expenses of his treatment.

Complaining about the poor condition, the need, the tightness of one’s hand, the loss of money and health, the loss of the luster of fame, the boredom of ingratitude and the “paralysis” that dominates the artistic community, did not belong to the elderly only. In the same week that Najwa Fouad appealed to the artistic community to find any role for her in order to Finding what to spend on herself, cries came out sadder and more painful from the younger generation.

The young artist, Sherif Idris, announced his retirement from acting permanently, due to the control of nepotism in the artistic community, and he asked his fans and friends to help him search for an opportunity to travel abroad, and wrote on his Facebook page, “After 35 years of quest and fatigue in the artistic community, I decided to retire and move away completely and change the course of my life.” ".

Idris added that he had reached a stage of depression, "I even dreamed of a nightmare that I would kill my children and kill myself, and anyone who has the opportunity to travel for me, I will be grateful to him, and this is my only request (...) and this is a decision I made after things in the artistic community reached an absurd stage, some colleagues even beg Work openly because the work is divided among certain people, so if things get to this point, it is better to stay away.”

He added that he has 3 children and is "unable to raise them or support them, and I have become indebted to the bricks of the earth."

Artist turns his car into a coffee project

Idris was preceded by a few days, the young artist Karim Al-Husseini, who turned his private car into a project for coffee and hot drinks, and Al-Husseini said that he had to do this because he was not offered any role in the Ramadan series, and added in a video of him that spread on the communication sites that the work is not a defect, and that he did so So that he finds what he can spend on his house and so that he does not have to accept roles that he is not satisfied with.

And a fake account on Facebook, bearing the name of the actress, Yasmine Sabry, had published what stated that the artist, Tawfiq Abdel Hamid, “from the middle generation” was in financial distress because he had not been assigned any role for 12 years, and the publication said that he would convert his car into a taxi in order to save expenses. His home, which was denied by Abdul Hamid in an intervention with the journalist Sayed Ali through his program “Hadrat Al-Citizen”, saying that he thought about this matter in the nineties, stressing that his financial affairs are currently stable, and pointed out that he has not participated in any work since 2010 because he wants a variety of roles.

It seems that these rumors and their denials had a role in Abdel Hamid's return to the screen, where he will participate for the first time in 12 years in the series "Uturn", which will be shown in the month of Ramadan.

The crisis of Maha Ahmed and Saqqa

Actress Maha Ahmed also revealed that no roles were assigned to her during the past years, and she directed sharp and stinging criticism of her colleagues Ahmed El-Sakka and Amir Karara for not helping her to join any work during the Ramadan season after she underwent surgery to lose weight, and criticized in a post on her page on Facebook - which it later deleted - their role in the series "The Seeds of the Strangers", which was shown last year, and accused them of having accepted this "strange" work for Mai Omar because she is the wife of director Mohamed Sami, who was favored by the United Company "Synergy" - which controls the Drama production - before it was discontinued last year.

Has the "United" deepened the "paralytic" culture?

The work groups in the artistic community are not recent and have existed for dozens of years. The late writer and scriptwriter Osama Anwar Okasha and director Ismail Abdel Hafez had a group of artists who were in harmony with them, led by Yahya Al-Fakharani, and this was evident in several dramatic works, including the famous series “Layali Al Helmeya.” "In all its parts, and the series "Zizinia" and "Opera Aida".

As well as Adel Imam's group, which appeared in most of his films, including actors Ahmed Ratib, Mustafa Metwally, Yousra and Lebleba.

But in the past, there were a large number of production companies, which achieved diversity, and gave a great opportunity for most actors to participate in dramatic works, and complaints about not working in the artistic community were very few.

With the emergence of the United Company "Synergy" owned by Tamer Morsi, affiliated with the sovereign bodies and its control over the production of soap operas, the idea of paralysis deepened.

The company tends to deal with a number of stars who enjoy the trust and love of the official bodies, led by Ahmed El-Sakka, Ahmed Ezz, Amir Karara, Karim Abdel Aziz, Mustafa Shaaban, Ahmed Al-Awadi and others.

These, along with some of the directors that Synergy deals with permanently, such as Mohamed Sami before the decision to stop dealing with him last year, and Peter Mimi, prefer a certain group of actors to appear with them permanently in their series, which caused a state of “unemployment” among a number of who do not belong to this group.

It is noteworthy that among the 24 series that will be shown in Ramadan this year, the United Company is unique in producing 14 series.
