Elon Musk, founder of the American electric car company Tesla, announced that he is working on the third part of his plan to develop his tech empire.

Musk's announcement was in response to a tweet by Bloomberg news writer Craig Trudel, and in response to another column in Bloomberg - by Dana Hall - about Elon Musk's main plans, and how he failed to provide affordable electric cars.

Musk previously announced two major plans - the first in 2006 and the second in 2016 - that summarize his vision for developing electric cars at the time.

Since it has been a long time since these plans, let us recall what came in those plans at that time.

2006 plan: "Tesla's secret master plan"

In 2006, Elon Musk announced in a blog that he had a master plan for his electric car company, and said his long-term goal was to build a wide range of models, including affordable family cars.

Explaining the overall purpose of Tesla Motors, Musk said the reason behind founding the company was to help accelerate the transition from a mining and hydrocarbon burning economy to a solar energy economy, which he believes is the primary, but not exclusive, sustainable solution.

This first master plan was to build a sports car, and use the money from the sports car, to create an affordable car. Musk has implemented most of his master plan, but it appears he has failed to provide affordable electric vehicles.

The first master plan was to build a sports car, and use the money obtained from the sports car to create affordable (European) cars.

Plan 2016: "Master Plan, Part Two"

Musk published his second master plan in 2016. In a blog post, he explained that his first master plan used all the money he had made from the online payments company PayPal of which he was one of the founders.

As for the second part of his master plan, he's upped his game to achieve a sustainable energy economy, to stop urban systems from collapsing when fossil fuels run out.

So he founded SolarCity and Powerwall to tackle this problem, while Tesla worked to develop two models of luxury sedans and SUVs to cover a broader consumer base.

To increase production and a sustainable future, Musk turned Tesla into a company that designs machines that builds machines.

Musk also aimed to develop traffic safety systems and improve Tesla's autopilot, to be about 10 times safer than the average systems in the United States, which is one death every 89 million miles.

The second part of Musk's master plan covers the development of a truly self-driving system, in which Tesla owners will begin recalling their vehicles wherever they want.

Plan 2022: "Master Plan, Part Three"

Tesla announced - in a tweet published last August - the "Tesla Bot", which is part of the technology of artificial general intelligence, known by the acronym "AGI".

So observers assume that the next part of Musk's master plan involves an AI-controlled robot.

But since most people have been waiting for affordable electric cars, which Musk has apparently failed to achieve over the past 16 years, this may be a staple in his agenda.

The company's Cybertruck has yet to be produced, which may be given priority in Part III.

Musk also hinted at a fully electric pickup truck in 2018. We all know his interest in Mars as well, as he believes humanity will have to live on another planet in the not-too-distant future.

The third phase of Musk's master plan may include space exploration by SpaceX.

And Musk called “Part One” for the first part of his plan, and then “Deux” on the second part, and we wonder what the name of the third part of his master plan will be.
