A 58-year-old man lost his life this Sunday in La Clusaz (Haute-Savoie).

The 50-year-old, who operated the ski lifts on the Beauregard plateau, died crushed by the snow groomer he was driving, reports

One of his colleagues gave the alert around 8 p.m.

The Civil Security Dragon 74 helicopter was dispatched to the scene.

When rescuers arrived, the man was under the machine.

According to information from our colleagues, he tried to get off the device, once back in the garage.

But the man would have accidentally turned on the snow groomer.

He then lost his balance and fell, before being crushed.

A shock for the whole station

An investigation was opened to try to determine the circumstances of the facts.

According to the victim's wife, the man had been suffering from a leg for several weeks.

“It was his pain that made him fall,” she laments.

The death of the fifties caused a lot of excitement in this station, in which he had worked for years.
