President Zelensky of Ukraine addressed the European Parliament online on March 1 and appealed for support for EU accession.

Along the way, there was a scene in which a simultaneous interpreter was screaming and choking.

What did he say?

The full speech is as follows:

Everyone in attendance.

Actually, recently, I'm wondering how to say hello.

Because I can't say

"good morning",

"good day",

"good night".

I can't tell you, this is true.

Because this day is definitely not a good day for someone, and this night is the last night for someone.

I am now talking about Ukrainian citizens who are protecting our country and freedom at the expense of life.

I am very happy to feel the united atmosphere of everyone here.

We are pleased to be able to unite the EU member states.

But I didn't expect to make such a sacrifice.

Many such sacrifices are tragedy.

It's a tragedy for me, a tragedy for all Ukrainians, a tragedy for our whole country.

It's a tremendous sacrifice.

Thousands of dead, two revolutions, one war, five days of full-scale Russian military invasion.

In fact, when I speak, I'm not reading aloud the paper.

Because in my country paper has become meaningless and everything has become a reality.

The victims are all real.

We are now sacrificing the strongest and strongest Ukrainians because of our desire to be a family with you and to be on an equal footing with you for our values, rights and freedoms.

An extraordinary Ukrainian.

And we often say, "I will definitely win."

Not only are you saying that, but I'm very happy to see that.

And we will definitely win, I'm sure so.

There is an expression "Ukraine chooses Europe".

What we were aiming for, the goal we were aiming for.

And I want to hear from you the word "Europe's choice of Ukraine".

I can only talk to you for a few minutes as the bombardment continues.

Kesa was a tragedy for all of us.

Two cruise missiles to Kharkov.

In a city near the border with Russia, many Russians have lived for a long time, and they have a very warm relationship with each other.

With more than 20 universities, it was the place with the largest number of universities in the country.

The young people were cheerful and wise, and on holidays they gathered at the largest square in the country, "Freedom Square".

It is the largest square in Europe.

And it's actually a square of freedom.

Please try to imagine.

Two cruise missiles in the Freedom Square.

Dozens of victims.

This is a sacrifice for freedom.

★ From here it sounds like the interpreter is choking ★

We are just fighting for our land and freedom.

Believe in my words.

No one can rob us of our freedom and our country, even though all the big cities of our country are now blocked.

Believe please.

I will call the square of any name the square of freedom.

In each city.

We can't break.

We are strong, we are Ukrainians.

I want our children to live.

I think this is a legitimate wish.

16 children died yesterday.

President Putin will once again say that this is some kind of operation, defeating military infrastructure.

What about our children?

Where are the children working in the military factory?

On a rocket?

Are you in a tank?

You killed 16 children!

Everyone, we are a very motivated people.

We are fighting for our rights: freedom and life.

And now we are fighting for our own survival.

This is our main motivation, but we are also fighting to be equal members of Europe.

And today I think it shows that.

If we are together, the EU will definitely be stronger.

Without you, Ukraine would be isolated.

We have proved to be at least as strong as you.

Prove that you are with us (next).

Prove that we will not let go.

Prove that you are truly a European.

Then life will overcome death and light will overcome darkness.

Glory to Ukraine.
