Yannick Bernard had been elected for the first time in June 2020 but the administrative court of Nice had canceled the ballot.

Charles Scibetta had filed a complaint for defamatory writings about him in a publication distributed to Carrossois during the intertour.

The Council of State confirmed the cancellation of the ballot last December, considering that the former mayor had not had time to defend himself.
