Timrå IK is last in the SHL and must qualify to stay in hockey's fine room.

Now the club announces that Fredrik Andersson will not be the leader in the booth during the qualifying matches against Djurgårdens IF.

Instead, Ante Karlsson takes over as head coach, while Andreas Molinder continues as assistant coach.

- We on the board have made this decision together with Kent and Jonas.

We felt that a change was needed and that we need to act to do everything we can before a qualifier.

We have great faith in the ability of the player squad and believe that we will be able to do this only if we can get them to play to their full potential, says chairman Lars Backlund in a press release.

Fredrik Andersson joined Timrå IK before the 2017 season and has since been involved in taking the club to the SHL twice.
