A surplus of yellow fabric

The Russians had taken off just before 5 p.m. (French time) on Friday aboard a Soyuz rocket, for a three-hour journey.

They were welcomed by the current ISS crew of two Russians, four Americans and one German.

The outfit of the three cosmonauts surprised observers: the Russians were indeed in yellow and blue, the colors of the Ukrainian flag.

Asked about the subject, Oleg Artemiev explained that this is simply the result of a “surplus of yellow fabric accumulated in the warehouse”.

But many go there saw a positioning against the war waged by their country against Ukraine.

So far, the tensions resulting from the conflict have not affected the operation of the ISS, which is the result of international collaboration.

But the war led by Vladimir Putin could cause the fall of the ISS, in particular because of potential problems with refueling.
