Between life and death for more than three weeks after his attack in Arles prison, the Corsican independence activist Yvan Colonna, sentenced to life imprisonment for the assassination of the prefect Claude Erignac in 1998, died at the hospital on Monday, March 21.

Hospitalized since March 2, Yvan Colonna's state of health was "still extremely serious", explained one of his lawyers, Mr. Patrice Spinosi.
