The inhabitants and students of the large Zola-Durantière district were looking forward to it.

Closed for ten months, the Durantière swimming pool finally reopens its doors on Monday.

Nantes' municipal equipment, 46 years old, has undergone major modernization work.

The main objective was to improve the reception of users, in particular people with reduced mobility.

New showers and changing rooms have, for example, been fitted out.

The project, which cost the city more than 2.2 million euros, also aimed to improve the building's energy performance.

The Durantière swimming pool is open to the public six days a week (except Tuesdays).

Around the Little Amazon and the Dervallières

In July, the Petite-Amazonie swimming pool will in turn close for a renovation that will take almost a year.

Facilities in the Malakoff district will reopen in May 2023. As for the expansion work on the Dervallières swimming pool, they will not begin until 2023. The main objective will be to add a 25 m covered pool.

Last December, Nantes Métropole announced the creation of a swimming pool to Olympic standards (50 m pool) in Rezé by 2026-2028.

It will be assigned primarily to sports practices.
