An octogenarian died knocked down by a truck, Thursday, late afternoon, in La Chapelle-la-Reine (Seine-et-Marne).

That day, traffic on Avenue de Fontainebleau was slowed down by the passage of an exceptional convoy.

The victim would have crossed the street outside the pedestrian crossing, along the cab of the driver of the heavy goods vehicle, who therefore would not have seen her, reports

The emergency services, quickly dispatched to the scene, could not do anything to save the octogenarian, who died instantly.

The alcohol and narcotics negative driver

An investigation has been opened to clarify the circumstances of this accident.

Screenings for alcohol and narcotics were carried out on the driver of the truck, who was heard by the gendarmes.

The results were negative.

Deeply shocked, the driver told the police that he would seek psychological help to recover from this tragedy.
