Zelensky reiterates his readiness to negotiate with Putin, and warns of a third world war

Zelensky defended holding several rounds of negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow since the start of Russia's war on Ukraine on February 24, saying they were of "great value".

"If there is only a 1 percent chance of stopping this war, we must seize it," he added.

Turkey, which is stepping up mediation efforts between Moscow and Kiev, confirmed on Sunday that Russia and Ukraine had made progress in their negotiations.

Yesterday, Zelensky called for negotiations, in a video clip posted on social networks, and said: "It is time to meet. It is time to talk. It is time to restore territorial integrity and justice to Ukraine."
