The pollen measurement at Umeå University has not started yet.

But according to SVT's meteorologist Deana Bajic, it is reasonable to believe that there is already some pollen in the air.

- There is a great risk of high levels of alpine pollen in Götaland, Svealand and along the southern coast of Norrland, and an increased risk of hazel pollen in both Götaland and parts of Svealand.

So it may be that there is some pollen with southerly winds that can be felt in the air, she says.

Is it possible to say anything about how this year's pollen season will be?

- It is very difficult to tell us meteorologists, but what we do know is that it has been very dry in recent weeks, and it can cause the flowering to be stopped for a while.

According to the Swedish Museum of Natural History, alder bloomed a lot last year, and this year much less flowering is therefore expected, says Deana Bajic.
