Ten years after the Mohamed Merah attacks in Toulouse, the tribute to the victims was held this Sunday, March 20 in Toulouse in the presence of 2,000 guests to pay tribute to the three soldiers, three Jewish students and their teacher who died in 2012. Among the invited, we found in the first place two presidents in office: Emmanuel Macron for France, Isaac Herzog, for Israel, as well as two former heads of state François Hollande and Nicolas Sarkozy.

"You dreamed of being a teacher, dancer or doctor"

They were together in the courtyard of the Ohr Torah school.

The four men stood in front of the tree of life, erected in memory of the victims on which are inscribed the names of Professor Jonathan Sandler, his children Gabriel and Arie, who were 3 and 6 years old, and Myriam Monsonégo, 8 years old. .

This moment of silence, of contemplation was poignant, then it gave way to the procession which took the direction of the Halle aux grains, a performance hall in the center of Toulouse where the tribute ceremony is being held.

For tens of minutes, several relatives of victims paraded at the microphone: "Myriam, you, my friend, what 18-year-old woman would you be today? This age so symbolic. The one where we can finally carry out all the projects that we dream of realizing. You dreamed of being a teacher, a dancer or a doctor. I remember your laughter, your voice, your gaze. These senses that remain through time and never grow old", testified Ava Ouakim, a friend of Myriam.
