On February 27, a six-month temporary closure procedure was launched against the Al Farouk mosque in Pessac, in the suburbs of Bordeaux, suspected of spreading "a Salafist ideology", indicated the prefect of Gironde Fabienne Buccio, in a press release. .
On March 16, the association managing the mosque filed an appeal with the administrative court of Bordeaux to request the suspension of this decision.
And it is this Monday at 2:30 p.m. that justice will look into this sensitive file.
While denying its supposed support for terrorism, "which the mosque has always vigorously denounced", the association highlights the imminence of Ramadan, which will begin on April 2.
Pending the court's decision, the mosque remains open.
