Yin Xiyue promised to write the DPRK army as the "main enemy", and the North Korean media condemned: spitting poisonous snakes in order to seize power without knowing it

[Global Times Special Correspondent in South Korea Li Hao] The Congressional Research Service, a U.S. government think tank, said in a report titled "South Korea Elected a New President" on the 18th that South Korean President-elect Yoon Seok-yue's policy of "pre-emptive strike" against North Korea may be related to the U.S. Opposite positions.

The day before, Yin Xiyue's national security policy was criticized by the North Korean media for "spitting poisonous snakes without knowing it".

Yonhap News Agency quoted the content of the above-mentioned report on the 18th as saying that judging from Yin Xiyue’s remarks during the election process and the press conference held after her election, Yin Xiyue’s position on the North Korean issue is more consistent than that of the previous president and the United States.

However, Yin Xiyue once said that by consolidating the South Korea-US alliance, it will strengthen pre-emptive and anti-missile forces, improve South Korea's national defense and military deterrence, and resist North Korea's "military provocation."

The report said that this may be contrary to the position of the United States. "When South Korea and North Korea have clashed in the past, the United States has often suggested that South Korea should refrain from using military countermeasures."

The report also predicts that Yin Xiyue will cooperate more closely with the United States on issues of concern to the United States, including North Korea, China, Japan, and the Indo-Pacific region.

According to the "Hankyoreh Daily" report, Yin Xiyue said during the election campaign on January 11 that if North Korea launched a nuclear and missile provocation, "there is no other way than a pre-emptive strike."

This statement was criticized by politicians and experts at the time, accusing "Yin Xiyue is going to start a war".

On the 17th, North Korean foreign media criticized the national security policy of the National Power Party, which Yoon Xiyue belongs to, saying that as long as the National Power Party is still there, the risk of war on this land will never be eliminated.

The North Korean foreign propaganda media "By Our Nation" published a commentary titled "What does the bad language with the smell of gunpowder foreshadow?" on the same day, and repeatedly counted the National Power Party's election programs such as "preempting the enemy" and "normalizing the South Korean-US military exercises", which were strictly criticized. Its "innate disgust and antagonism" towards North Korea has not changed in the slightest.

Another North Korean media outlet, Dawn, also expressed dissatisfaction with Yin Xiyue's emphasis on security cooperation between South Korea, the United States, and Japan, criticizing her for not incriminating the "millennium-old enemy (Japan)", but instead chattering about "building alliances" and "developing relations for the future."

Regarding Yin Xiyue's promise to write the North Korean army as the "main enemy" in the "National Defense White Paper" and to resume normal South Korea-US joint exercises, the media condemned "spitting poisonous snakes without knowing it for the sake of seizing power."

South Korea's "EDAILY" website reported on the 18th that there is speculation that the reason why Yin Xiyue considered using the South Korean Ministry of Defense Building as his new office may be because he has always advocated "pre-emptive strikes" against North Korea.

Kim Jong-dae, a former congressman and military expert, said that Yin Xiyue also seemed to be worried about North Korea's retaliation, and that the Ministry of Defense building has the ability to defend against nuclear, chemical and electromagnetic pulse attacks, and has an underground fortress with various command and communication systems.
