Hundreds of Ukrainian war refugees have already arrived in Sweden via Nynäshamn by ferry from Poland.

On Friday, another ship also arrived at the port: the gas tanker Coral Energice, which transported liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Russian port of Vysotsk just north of St. Petersburg.

Transportation like this has become a burning issue for both politicians and companies in the past week, after SVT's revelation that a ship in the port of Gävle carried Russian aviation fuel, and the news that the port of Södertälje stopped a Russian ship.

Confirms Swedish customers

On Thursday, the Swedish Port Workers' Union announced a blockade against ships with connections to Russia.

However, the decision did not affect Coral Energice as the union has no members in the port in question.

Olga Väisänen is responsible for communication and sustainability at the energy company Gasum.

She confirms that the gas that has now been unloaded is delivered to their customers in Sweden, which are in both industry, transport and shipping.

But which customers will use this particular gas, the company does not want to tell SVT.

Can not answer

However, two of its customers are the steel giant SSAB and Destination Gotland.

It is the ferry company's newest vessels that run on natural gas and biogas.

- We can confirm that Gasum delivers gas to us, says Destination Gotland's CEO Marcus Risberg.

But he can not answer whether the Gotland boats will get the gas, or how much Russian gas the ships run on in general.

This is because the gas in the terminal from which the vessels are bunkered is mixed with gas from several directions.

- The message we get from our suppliers is that the absolute majority of the gas in our tanks comes from Norway.

How do you think about the fact that you can not guarantee that you will not drive on Russian gas?

- This is a question that I do not think I need to comment on.

I can only relate to the facts we have.

"Wants few guarantees"

At present, Russian gas is not subject to any sanctions in Europe.

But according to Marcus Risberg, Destination Gotland has expressed that it expects Gasum to ensure that the gas comes from other countries.

- Of course, we want to achieve a situation where we can get guarantees from suppliers as soon as possible that no Russian gas molecules are in the system.

The steel giant SSAB also stated the other day to Aftonbladet that its ambition is to reduce its dependence on Russian purchases.

- We buy gas from Gasum, exactly how much gas Gasum has from Russia, it is better that you contact them about, says SSAB's press manager Mia Widell to Aftonbladet.

Gasum, in turn, states that Russian natural gas accounts for a small part of the company's total imports.
