At the Polish Przemysl station, near the Ukrainian border, Aleksandra Ischenko has just gotten off the train with her two children.

The Ukrainian mother fled her hometown, Mykolaiv, in the face of the scale of the bombardments.

The situation was horrible, we were very scared.

We were all the time in underground shelters, the women, the children and the elderly

, remembers the mother of the family

.

Here in Poland, it is calm, we are not afraid for our children.

The mayor of our city told us:

“the city is mined, you travel at your own risk”
