Coleman (6 sec 41), who is making his return to competition this season after 18 months of suspension for breaches of his anti-doping whereabouts obligations, was overtaken at the photo-finish by Jacobs (6 sec 41).

American Marvin Bracy finished 3rd (6 sec 44).

This is a small sensation, Jacobs not being known for his indoor qualities despite the European title won last year in Torun, four months before his exploit at the Tokyo Olympics where he won the titles of the 100 m and 4x100 m with the Italian relay, to everyone's surprise.

On the other hand, it is a cold shower for Coleman, world champion in the 100m in 2019 in Doha and the 60m in 2018, who can no longer claim the status of boss of the sprint, now vested in Jacobs.

The Italian will thus be the man to beat at the Eugene Worlds from July 14 to 25.
