The parish association and the so-called "tie men", who mostly consist of committed older ladies and gentlemen, have been working on the preparations for a week now.

In one of the premises, there are ladies who sew up curtains for 53 apartments.

- We have been sewing since Thursday last week and wondered exactly how many curtains there are, says Ulla Linder.

After a quick count, the figure was around 200 curtains.

"We will take care of them"

In the room next door, all donated things have been organized.

- We have plenty of toothbrushes, around 3000, says Torsten Ericsson.

And in the apartments where the Ukrainian refugees are moving in, it is being completely renovated.

Furniture, curtains and basic items are placed in all apartments.

But according to Torsten Ericsson, it was different in 2015, society did not close in the same way.

- We have learned from the last wave of refugees.

These refugees who are coming here now, they should not have the bad reception they received in 2015. We will take care of them, he says.

In the clip above, you can see when the felling bridges help with the preparations.
