China News Service, Beijing, March 18 (Zhang Su, Xie Yanbing) Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian hosted a regular press conference on March 18.

A reporter asked about US Secretary of State Blinken saying that the US will clarify to China the consequences of its military assistance to Russia.

Zhao Lijian: On the Ukraine issue, China has always acted objectively and impartially and made independent judgments based on the merits of the matter itself.

China has always advocated respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, abide by the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, attach importance to the legitimate security concerns of all countries, support all efforts that are conducive to peaceful resolution of crises, and strive to promote peace talks and ease the humanitarian situation.

China's position is open and aboveboard, fair and objective, and beyond reproach. In fact, it is consistent with the position of the vast majority of countries in the world.

Some people in the US continue to spread false information and smear and put pressure on China. This is extremely irresponsible and does not help solve the problem. China firmly opposes it and will never accept it.

What the US should do is to seriously reflect on its role and role in the Ukraine crisis, earnestly shoulder its due responsibilities, and take practical actions to ease the situation and solve the problem, rather than continue to add fuel to the fire and transfer conflicts.
