Politico said that a US military package being sent to help Ukraine includes 100 Switchblade drones, a new level of weaponry.

Along with other systems, the weapons package is worth $800 million.

Western allies led by the United States are backing Ukraine's defense of its territory with weapons systems, and Russia's war on Ukraine is now in its third week. Russia has found it difficult to break Ukraine's defense of its major cities, even though it has lost control of the nuclear reactor sites.

Politico reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's recent speech to the US Congress was accompanied by a request for greater US military support.

Mike McCaul, a member of the US House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee, said the package also included 100 Switch Country, which are small, light, tube-launched drones.

The drone system works by means of the Global Positioning System (GPS) and the operator can control its flight from dozens of miles away.

When fired like a mortar, the drone can stay in the air for approximately 30 minutes, during which time the operator can move it toward its target, where it crashes and explodes as destroying itself on the target as the Japanese Kamakazi planes used in World War II.

With a patented sensor wave feature, these drones are proven in combat and are the ideal weapon for use in guerrilla warfare.

And the Switchblad, which can be carried on the back, and deploys quickly, whether from air, sea or ground platforms, provides an increase in the rate of targeting enemies through the presence of the coordinates of the advanced geo-location system in real time, and also gives video recording for accurate targeting and to avoid collateral damage.

Target coordinates are transmitted instantly from the fighter to the aircraft via a manual control system, reducing interaction timelines and operator cognitive load.

The aircraft can destroy vehicles and can also be used to thwart ambushes, giving Ukrainian forces a clear advantage if Russian forces get too close to the capital, Kyiv.
