In response to the tightening situation in Ukraine, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has decided to set up a new countermeasures headquarters to consider ways to stably procure important materials such as energy and rare metals.

With the tightening of sanctions following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, there are concerns that the supply of energy such as natural gas and oil from Russia and rare metals such as palladium will be disrupted.



In response to this situation, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has decided to newly establish the "Strategic Materials and Energy Supply Chain Countermeasures Headquarters" to study ways to stably procure important materials such as energy and rare metals. ..



In the future, in collaboration with related ministries and agencies, we will consider ways to procure from countries and regions other than Russia, and from the perspective of economic security, we will proceed with analysis of the supply chain = supply network of important supplies.
