It will take another year before the production of tomatoes and giant prawns can start.

But on Friday, the first symbolic sod was taken for the Regenergy Frövi project, which is a collaboration between the company WA3RM and the Billerud's Korsnäs Group.

The project is described as an example of how the industry should switch to becoming more energy-efficient and at the same time contribute to increased production of Swedish-produced raw materials.

In addition to benefiting from the waste heat from paper production, it is also expected to lead to 230 new jobs.

A step towards increased self-sufficiency

Sweden's Minister of Trade and Industry Karl-Petter Thorwaldsson was one of those present during the inauguration.

In his speech, he talked, among other things, about the importance of changing Sweden to become more self-sufficient - an issue that came to the fore with the war in Ukraine.

- Today we only produce about fifty percent of what we eat in Sweden.

And with the development around what is happening in Ukraine, we now all know that we must switch to becoming more self-sufficient.
