Gunnel has had to wait for surgery for a year

More than 3,000 Västmanland residents are currently queuing for surgery.

One of the departments where the queues are the longest is in orthopedics.

Gunnel Öberg has been queued for a year to get help with his osteoarthritis.

This is despite the fact that the care guarantee states that a patient should not have to wait more than three months.

For much of the time she has been in line, she has still gone to her job as a nurse - despite the pain.
