NASA's lunar rocket made its first public appearance ahead of launch this summer.

It is a large rocket that will perform the first mission of the 'Artemis program' that returns to the moon after half a century.

The space launch system SLS, developed in 2014, is NASA's next-generation space rocket consisting of two stages.

With a total length of 98.1 meters, it is the largest since the Apollo era, reaching the height of a 32-story building.

It is slightly shorter than Saturn 5, which sent the Apollo spacecraft to the moon, but with 15% more thrust.

The 'non-combustion test', a final functional check before launch, will be conducted over two days from the 3rd of next month. Based on the result, the launch schedule for 'Artemis', which goes to the moon orbit without an astronaut, is decided. It is expected to come as early as May.

NASA is ultimately pursuing a lunar residency and plans to continue manned exploration of Mars.

Netizens responded, "I'm going to the moon again after half a century~ I'm excited just by imagining it!" and "I also support NASA, who challenges endlessly!"
