Director of Legal Affairs at the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority, Mohammed Al Zaabi, said that the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah has increased the number of categories exempted from paying toll gate fees from nine to 12 categories.

Al-Zaabi explained, in press statements, that the categories included in the exemption are trucks that cross the traffic tariff gates within 12 hours of paying the traffic tariff at one of the gates, trucks that work for the benefit of the projects of Their Highnesses the Rulers, Crown Princes and Deputy Rulers, and trucks owned by local and federal government agencies. The decision specified five fees for the traffic tariff of trucks: the traffic tariff fees for ports and air, land and sea ports, at a value of 120 dirhams for a heavy truck, and the traffic tariff fees for payment with a collection card, so that it is 400 dirhams for a heavy truck with six axles, and 200 dirhams for a truck with less load and wheel axles.

It also set a traffic tariff fee for cash payment of 450 dirhams for a heavy truck with six axles, and 250 dirhams for a truck with less load and wheel axles.

He pointed out that the fee for requesting a copy of the fee payment receipt instead of lost amounts to 10 dirhams for each copy, and the value of five dirhams for each copy of the issuance of a true copy of the traffic permit, provided that 10 dirhams of collection fees are added to the value of each fee.

The price of entry tickets to the restrooms is 10 dirhams for the first hour, 30 dirhams for the second hour, 60 dirhams for the third hour, and 50 dirhams for the fourth hour and above for each hour, in addition to the third hour fees. And 60 dirhams for the second hour, 120 dirhams for the third hour, and 50 dirhams from the fourth hour and above, in addition to the third hour fee.

A fine of up to 25,000 dirhams will be imposed, and the truck will be impounded for 30 days.

He explained that the fine for using light vehicles on the road designated for trucks is 100 dirhams for the first violation, 250 dirhams for the second violation, and 500 dirhams for the third and above violation, and the fine for not having a collection card or money to pay the fees is 400 dirhams for the first violation, and 750 dirhams for the violation. Al Zaabi explained that if the trucks cause accidents or injuries inside the precincts of the traffic tariff gates, a fine of 1,500 dirhams will be imposed with the repair value incurred, and if the violation is repeated for the second time, the fine will reach 2,500 dirhams with the repair value incurred, and in the third violation and more Above, the fine is up to 3,500 dirhams, with the truck being impounded for 30 days, with the driver bearing the value of the repair.

He explained that the fine for seizing the driver in unauthorized times amounts to 500 dirhams for the first violation, 1500 dirhams for the second violation, and 2500 dirhams for the third violation or more, with the truck impounded for 30 days.

The decision added that the fine for not carrying an entry permit for the first violation amounts to 500 dirhams, in the second violation to 1500 dirhams, and for the third violation and above to 2500 dirhams, with the vehicle impounded for 30 days.
