After a 20-minute phone call with Indian Prime Minister Modi, President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol said, "We want to broaden the horizon of practical cooperation in foreign affairs and security with India, which shares the values of liberal democracy."

President-elect Yoon's summit currency is India's fifth after the US and Japan, the UK and Australia.

Except for the UK, all of them are members of the 'Quad', an Indo-Pacific security consultative body that is designed to contain China.

Among them, the US, UK, and Australia are members of 'Ocus,' a trilateral security partnership and military alliance in the Indo-Pacific region.

Coincidentally, it was interpreted that the target of the call reflected the intention of the elected president who declared that the US-ROK alliance would be rebuilt as a key participant in the US-led Indo-Pacific strategy.

During his presidency, Yoon--elect announced several times that he would participate in Quad's working-level council, the 'working group'.

However, a key official of the transition committee said, "It is nothing more or less than a congratulatory call."

It is interpreted as being conscious of China, which is opposed to Quad.

President-elect Yoon plans to attend a signboard ceremony for the transition committee tomorrow (18th) and announce the full launch of the transition committee.
