Everyone who lives and stays in Västerbotten is offered a free covid vaccine by the region.
At present, few from Ukraine have registered with the Swedish Migration Board, but when more have done so, the region will make an effort to persuade them to get vaccinated against covid-19.
According to Ronny Lestander, vaccination coverage in Ukraine is only 35 percent.
- Those who have registered with the Swedish Migration Agency may undergo a health examination and if they have not received their covid vaccination, we will offer it.
The same applies to children who have not received other types of vaccine that are included in the vaccination program, says Ronny Lestander.
Vaccination at health centers
At the end of April, the vaccination clinic on the Umeå campus will close and the capacity of the vaccination center in Skellefteå will be reduced.
Then the vaccination of refugees will take place at health centers instead.
Will it be necessary to switch up the vaccination possibilities again with this?
- I hope that we will not need it and that it will be accommodated in the normal flow that we have right now, says Ronny Lestander.
