Abdullah bin Zayed meets Russian Foreign Minister in Moscow

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met today in the Russian capital, Moscow, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov.

During the meeting, they discussed cooperation between the two countries and ways to enhance strategic partnership relations in all fields.

The two sides exchanged views on the main developments and challenges related to security and stability in the Middle East and Africa.. They discussed regional and international developments, issues of common interest, and efforts to reach a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Russian Foreign Minister discussed the stability of global energy and commodity markets, including the global supply of grain.

His Highness stressed the need to reach a settlement and a peaceful solution between Russia and Ukraine, and expressed the UAE's readiness to support all efforts aimed at finding a solution to the crisis, including a ceasefire.

His Highness stressed the importance of maintaining peace, security and stability at the regional and international levels, noting the UAE's commitment to constructive diplomacy aimed at reducing escalation.

During the meeting, His Highness expressed the UAE's deep concern about the humanitarian repercussions of the current situation, and reviewed possible mechanisms to alleviate the suffering of civilians, stressing the importance of ensuring unhindered humanitarian and relief access in line with international humanitarian law, and referred to the role of the United Nations in this regard, once again supporting the state. UAE for its humanitarian work.

The meeting was attended by the country's Ambassador and Extraordinary Plenipotentiary to the Russian Federation, Dr. Muhammad Ahmed bin Sultan Al Jaber, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Abdul Nasser Al Shaali.
