Just over a third of Ukraine's population has taken the covid-19 vaccine, compared with Sweden, where more than 84 percent of the population over the age of 12 have taken two injections.

In Värmland, 90.3 percent have taken dose two.

The refugees from Ukraine will have access to health care that is necessary from an infection control perspective in Sweden, and in Värmland they are ready to vaccinate those who arrive.

Are you worried about a new carona wave in connection with the influx of refugees?

- Not as it looks considering that we have good vaccination coverage, but that presupposes that we get the Ukrainian population vaccinated because they are at risk of serious illness, says Birgitta Sahlström, operations manager regional vaccination unit.

The vaccination rate of the Ukrainian population is also lower when it comes to other vaccinations, and the Asylum and Refugee Health will now review this with the help of the region.
