Haute-Garonne and Tarn have been placed on orange alert by Météo-France due to strong winds expected during the day on Tuesday.

Gusts ranging from 90 to 120 km / h are expected in the South West of the country, announced Météo France. 

The departments of Haute-Garonne and Tarn were placed on orange vigilance on Monday by Météo-France, which reports gusts of up to 110 km / h in the Toulouse area.

The forecaster describes an "episode of strong Autan winds occurring on average two to three times a year" which will "continue to strengthen very gradually over the hours".

"Strong gusts will occur Monday evening and in the night from Monday to Tuesday, with values ​​of 90 to 100 km / h over the Toulouse noon", underlined Météo-France in its last bulletin of 4 p.m.

"The Autan wind will reach its maximum intensity on Tuesday during the day with (...) gusts of 100 to 110 km / h in the Toulouse area and 110 to 120 km / h in the Lauragais (between Toulouse and Carcassonne) and the region of Castres-Mazamet (Tarn)", according to the same source.

Météo-France also warns against "a very strong wind in the night from Monday to Tuesday on the Pyrenees with gusts close to 100 km / h in the mountains and in certain valleys".
