The Suez Canal cancels huge discounts for LNG carriers, starting tomorrow

Today, Monday, the Suez Canal Authority announced the cancellation of discounts granted to liquefied gas tankers, starting tomorrow, Tuesday.

The authority published a periodic book on LNG carriers, stating that the reduction granted to LNG tankers transiting the Suez Canal was cancelled, according to Article Two of Circular (2/2015) and the circular issued to amend it on October 26, 2021, with their work suspended.

The authority had granted a 15% reduction in the normal transit fees for LNG tankers passing through the canal starting last November, but today's decision means canceling any previous reduction.
