It was in mid-February that a woman in her 25s disappeared in Grästorp.

Shortly afterwards, a man was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping.

The prosecuting authority now announces that the man has been released and that he has now been completely removed from the investigation.

On the prosecution's side, it can be read that the police worked according to several different theories, but that the man could now be removed from the investigation.

- We have always worked with different theories because it was not obvious that the suspect was the perpetrator, says Niklas Lindström, the police investigation leader.

The prosecutor's office further writes that during the preliminary investigation, information was checked about how the suspect had moved with the help of surveillance cameras.

- This investigation shows, together with other investigations, that there was simply no time to carry out the act of depriving the woman of her life, says preliminary investigation leader Lars Johansson.

At the beginning of March, a dead person was found in the river Nossan outside Grästorp.

According to the police, it is probably the woman who has previously disappeared in the town.

- We must get an autopsy statement, we are waiting for that now, says chamber prosecutor Lars Johansson.
