The Bonneville research brigade (Haute-Savoie) announced this Saturday that it had made an extraordinary seizure.
The gendarmes have indeed got their hands on nearly half a ton of cannabis in Cluses and Scionzier, in the Arve valley (Haute-Savoie).
The seizure took place five days earlier, indicates France 3 Auvergne Rhône-Alpes.
The soldiers precisely intercepted 428 kg of drugs.
A “major blow to organized crime”
The value of these narcotics on the market is around 3.2 million euros.
The dragnet carried out after a period of investigation required the intervention of 62 gendarmes and three dog teams.
Officials hailed what they called a "major blow to organized crime in the valley".
In addition to cannabis, firearms, cash and cars were seized.
Six individuals were arrested and taken into custody.
Two of them were remanded in custody.
