They said that the phenomenon of electronic beggary spreads intensively during the month of Ramadan every year, in light of the desire of many to donate and do good deeds and help the poor, stressing the importance of increasing awareness campaigns to raise the sense of prevention among members of the public, and not to deal with electronic beggars.

The citizen (Abu Muhammad) stressed the importance of not responding to beggars who target defrauding benefactors and benefactors, and directing donations through official channels and charities approved in the country, adding that the UAE leads the world in the field of humanitarian aid, and provides support and assistance to the needy through various channels.

The State Public Prosecution, through its accounts on social media, explained the penalty for managing the crime of organized beggary, explaining that according to Article 476 of Federal Decree-Law No. 31 of 2021 regarding the issuance of the Crimes and Penalties Law, which stipulates that he shall be punished by imprisonment for a period of no less than six months, And a fine of no less than 100,000 dirhams, whoever manages the crime of organized beggary, which is committed by an organized group of two or more people.

The same penalty applies to anyone who brings people to the state to use them in the crime of organized beggary, and in accordance with Article 475 of Federal Decree-Law No. 31 of 2021 promulgating the Crimes and Penalties Law, he shall be punished by imprisonment for a period not exceeding three months and a fine of no less than 5000 dirhams, whoever commits The crime of begging through begging with the aim of obtaining a material or in-kind benefit in any form or means.

It is considered an aggravating circumstance if the crime of beggary is committed in several cases, such as if the beggar is in good faith, or has an apparent source of livelihood, or if the beggar fakes permanent injuries or disabilities, or pretends to perform a service for others, or uses any other means of deception and deception with the intention of Influencing others to elicit their sympathy.

Imprisonment and a fine

The legal advisor, Dr. Youssef Al-Sharif, said that the rumors law under the provisions of Article (51) stipulates that whoever commits the crime of begging, using the means of Information technology, through solicitation, or in any form or means.

And it stipulated in the second paragraph of the same article that whoever uses information technology means to seek assistance from the federal or local government authorities or one of their officials, in an offensive manner or contrary to the truth, shall be punished with the same penalty.
