The plant fire brigade of the Frankfurt-Höchst industrial park has put its new fire-fighting boat Julietta into service.

The nine-meter-long fire-fighting boat, which cost 480,000 euros including the new jetty, can suck in water from the Main and spray 1,500 liters per second onto fire sites with a water cannon, which roughly corresponds to the amount of water in ten bathtubs.

Julietta replaces the fire-fighting boat "Hoechst", which was in use for the industrial park for almost 60 years.

The new fire-fighting boat, which was manufactured in Finland and converted in Rostock, is only half the size of its predecessor, which could also be used as an icebreaker.

On the other hand, Julietta is faster, more agile and easier to control, explained Thorsten Peine from the Infraserv Höchst plant fire brigade.

The two 200 hp engines enable a speed of up to 73 km/h.

The professional fire brigade of the industrial park operator consists of 130 firefighters and 40 vehicles.

90 chemical and pharmaceutical companies with 22,000 employees produce in Höchst.
