The combination of a high pressure and mild winds that flow in over Scandinavia means that Gothenburg has had unusually warm weather.

SVT's meteorologist Josefine Bergstedt.

- It is now about one to two degrees warmer than it usually is the first twelve days in March, says Josefine Bergstedt.

But that thing with "usually" is a little tricky to sort out.

For the new normal temperature is adjusted every 30 years.

- Every time you adjust, it gets warmer.

It depends on climate change.

The new normal now differs from the previous reference by a few degrees, says Josefine Bergstedt.

Hottest March day ever in Gothenburg

On Saturday, Gothenburg had the second warmest temperature since the measurements started, 13.8 degrees.

The hottest day occurred on March 7, 1989, when it was 15.1 degrees in Gothenburg.

In the future, it looks like it will be a bit cooler.

- The mild air that lies over Gothenburg today will start to move away tomorrow.

It will not be quite as hot, but somewhere over ten degrees tomorrow also in the Gothenburg area, says Josefine Bergstedt.
