The English Premier League Board of Directors has announced that Roman Abramovich will be disqualified from Chelsea's board of directors following the UK government's decision to impose sanctions.

Abramovich, an emerging conglomerate with close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin, has recently been placed on a list of sanctions by Western countries.

He said he would sell the Chelsea club on the 2nd of this month, before sanctions were imposed.

Meanwhile, Reuters reported that Hyundai Motor Company announced that it was terminating the contract with Chelsea.

"Until further notice, under the current circumstances, we have decided to suspend marketing and communication activities with Chelsea," Hyundai Motor Company said.

It is known that Hyundai Motor Company has been sponsoring £10 million a year since 2018, including putting the company logo on the sleeves of Chelsea jerseys.
