The Ukrainian Mariia, 44, fleeing from the war in the country, has given birth to a baby weighing two kilos and 930 kilograms at the Denia Hospital.

According to the hospital, it is the

first baby born to a refugee mother

outside the country after the Russian invasion.

The little one has come into the world by

natural childbirth, at 4:25 p.m. this Friday afternoon.

Both mother and son are in "perfect condition" at the Denia Hospital Maternity ward, a public center managed by the Ribera health group, as explained in a statement.

Mariia arrived on March 7 from Strutyn

, near the border with Poland, to the Alicante town of Jávea, where her sister Natalia has lived for more than 20 years.

She left the Ukraine by train to the Polish border, where her brother-in-law and nephew

were waiting for her, who traveled from Jávea

by car to pick her up.

He was admitted to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Service last Thursday afternoon.

As she has transferred to the team of midwives who have attended her during childbirth, she made the decision to leave Ukraine when she verified that

Russian aircraft were bombing hospitals.

The Obstetrics team has accompanied her at all times, since her husband, with whom she is constantly connected via video call,

has had to stay in Ukraine

.

In addition, Mariia has also had a translation service during childbirth, since Alla Smolyn, of Ukrainian origin, has been working in the hospital's Admissions Department for more than five years.

Jávea Red Cross has called for solidarity to help Mariia with the

necessary items for raising the baby

and also with non-perishable food for the Ukrainian population that is arriving in the area.
