I witnessed the birth of the Moon Jae-in administration five years ago on the spot.

At that time, everyone was full of confidence and hopeful.

It was even more so because the government was born after the unprecedented impeachment regime in history.

The Democratic Party was packed with candidates for the next presidential election, and the people's power was exactly the opposite.

Former CEO Lee Hae-chan openly talked about the '20-year rule'.

A few people nodded their heads.

But now, five years later, the reality is as seen.

The '10-year cycle of regime change' has become a phrase.

It was a close match, but the win was clear.

Power is finite, and the people's hearts are so cold.

How did the Democratic Party give up power after 5 years?

The first is real estate.

It went up too high.

Even Democrats know that.

Phenomenon is a problem, but the key is attitude.

The real perception and solution of the ruling party over real estate prices was a bigger problem.

“I want to assure you that our government is confident in the real estate issue” (President Moon Jae-in, 2019.11.19.), “There is no reason for all citizens to go to Gangnam to live” (Chang Ha-seong, former Blue House Policy Director, 2018.9.5.), The words "I feel sorry for the young people in their 30s" (former Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kim Hyun-mi, August 25, 2020) clearly showed how the current government views real estate public sentiment.

For most people, real estate is not just a means of increasing wealth, but a matter directly related to the quality of life.

It's a matter of how long it takes you to commute each day, how many railroad crossings your little ones have to cross to school, and whether or not you'll have to wrap your head around moving every few years.

It is a matter of fairness and equity, even if you work all night, eat less, wear less, and save money than those who bought a house with loans.

Those who do not have it because of house prices, and those who do have it because of taxes.

With a few exceptions, everyone was unhappy, at least in front of real estate.

The second is because of the inner fire.

It is because of arrogance and self-righteousness that only we are right and you are wrong.

Too often they demonized their opponents when necessary and incited hatred and anger.

The subjects were sometimes opposition parties, prosecutors, the media, and sometimes ordinary citizens.

We were overly tolerant of our side's faults and overly harsh with the other side's faults.

That was the case with Yoon Mi-hyang, and that was the case with the country.

The court of first instance in the case of Jeong Gyeong-shim ruled that "it caused psychological pain to people who told the truth" to Jung, but it was not just Jung.

The Democratic Party changed the party constitutional rules and applied for Seoul and Busan mayors, even though the heads of regional organizations were disgraced one after another due to sexual harassment.

The Drooking case and the case of the Ministry of Environment's blacklist, which were confirmed guilty by the Supreme Court ruling, followed the evils of the previous administration.

Chonbuk National University professor Kang Jun-man, a representative progressive commentator in Korean society, wrote in his book, "I was arranging the cases of 'Naeronambul' in the Moon Jae-in regime, but I stopped halfway through.

It is not just Professor Kang's personal impression.

In a FGI report conducted by the Democratic Party in May of last year, respondents ranked second as the image that comes to mind when they think of the Democratic Party, after the party index Parang (10.0%), followed by Naronambul (8.5%).

In a poll conducted by the Korea Institute of Social Opinion (KSOI) right after the 4.7 re-election last year, 30.4% of respondents answered that the reason for the decline in the current administration's approval rating was 'introverted attitude and arrogance'.

The third is because of the rigid support layer.

It is precisely because of the small number of politicians who only look at a few strong supporters and seek political interests.

For the past few years, there has been something like a 'official' for raising political weights both inside and outside the Democratic Party.

If he voiced a voice that was close to the extreme while shouting for all sorts of reforms and eradication of corruption, he was able to receive nominations and become a member of the Supreme Council with the support of some strong supporters.

Because they have to pay off debt when they are in debt, they represented the overrepresented voice of the supporters of Kangseong, and the Democratic Party went against the real public sentiment each time.

In a group in-depth interview (FGI) report conducted by the Seoul Party of the Democratic Party of Korea after the devastating defeat in the 4.7 re-election last year, the majority of interviewees chose 'the country's situation' as a failure, but some lawmakers were still busy shouting 'protect the homeland'.

As the voices of some lawmakers grew louder, the Democratic Party's support for the party declined.

However, the scope of influence of the strong supporters is limited to intra-party elections.

There has never been a time in a national election where the centrist vote was not a casting boat.

The Democratic Party's presidential message is condensed into an 'apology'.

As the presidential election drew nearer, he bowed loudly and repeatedly apologized, but it turned out that it was too late to overturn the result.

The fourth is because of the suppression frame.

The Democratic Party, which I watched as a reporter, is still a party with a comparative advantage in terms of political technique.

This may be due to the influence of the 586th generation, who have accumulated political experience and competence since their student days.

The problem is that the frame itself is often stuck in that era.

Inside the Democratic Party, there are quite a few opinions that point to the catchphrase 'Daejang-dong torso is Yoon Seok-yeol' as one of the most failed frames in this presidential election.

At the start of the Daejang-dong development project in 2015, Yoon Seok-yeol was relegated to the National Intelligence Service's comment investigation and served as a prosecutor at the Daegu High Prosecutors' Office.

Even if we assume that the allegations of covering up the Busan Savings Bank's illegal loan investigation in 2011 are correct as the Democratic Party insists, "Yun Seok-yeol is also responsible", but the frame of "Yun Seok-yeol is a body" is too far.

For the same reason, this frame was ridiculed in various Internet communities, but senior officials from the previous senior leadership repeated only the words "Yun Seok-yeol's body".

In last year's 4.7 second by-election, he suffered a devastating defeat in all of Seoul, despite being the equivalent of Taryung.

Citizens are not stupid.

It is a world where all kinds of information are shared and disclosed in real time.

When excessive suppression frames are repeated, people feel ignored.

Fifth, the Democratic Party itself has become conservative.

At one time, the People's Power-affiliated party was called the Conservative Party and the Democratic Party was called the Progressive Party and the Progressive Camp, but now no one calls it that way.

The people's power is still conservative, but the Democratic Party no longer uses the word 'progressive'.

That's because the Democrats were conservative and right-clicked.

Right-clicking and approaching the center to get center votes while being reborn as an authorized party can be positively evaluated, but the problem is that the Democratic Party lost many values in the process.

Candidate Lee Jae-myung's promise in this election was not much different from that of Yoon Seok-yeol.

This is why the saying, “I think it’s okay to change the names of the two people” (former Prime Minister Kim Dong-yeon, December 12, 2022) came out.

It is also evaluated that many of the Democratic Party lawmakers met at the scene find it difficult to feel any difference from the People's Power lawmakers the lower their players are.

They are hesitant to voice a different voice from the party, and it is often difficult to know what values they are pursuing.

How many voters can readily say what values the Democrats aim for and who they represent?

I know this is not a good thing to hear from the Democratic Party and its supporters, who have lost power in five years.

However, few people predicted whether the People's Power (the Liberty Korea Party) would come to power like this five years ago.

Ray Dalio, an American investor called the Steve Jobs of the financial world, said that progress can only be achieved when pain is added to self-reflection.

So is politics.

Power is limited and people's opinions change.

Democrats also need to develop further than they are now.

Not for the Democratic Party and its supporters, but for the Korean society.

This is because birds fly with left and right wings, and democracy rolls as a balance and check between the opposition and opposition parties.

There is hope for the Democratic Party only when it becomes a great opposition party in the next five years.
