YouTube, the world's largest video-sharing platform operated by Google, has decided to block access to Russian state media worldwide.

According to AP/Reuters reports, YouTube announced on the 11th local time that it has started blocking access to channels related to Russian state media worldwide.

So far, we have only blocked RT and Sputnik in Europe, but we have expanded both regions and targets.

YouTube did this, citing content regulations that deny or downplay well-documented incidents of violence, or make them seem trivial.

He added that Russia's invasion of Ukraine is now subject to its Violent Cases Rules, and posts that violate the rules will be removed.

YouTube has so far stopped advertising in Russia.

Russian state media have protested against regulatory measures such as blocking by the App Store and social media as unfair censorship.
