Ukraine has seen more casualties and more than 2.3 million people evacuated abroad following a military invasion by Russia.



The Government of Japan has officially decided to provide emergency humanitarian assistance totaling 100 million dollars and 11.6 billion yen to Ukraine and neighboring countries, saying that the need for assistance is increasing.

According to the United Nations, Russia's military invasion killed at least 549 people in Ukraine between the 24th of last month and the 9th of this month, and the number of people evacuated abroad reached 2.31 million as of the 9th.



In response to this situation, the government decided to provide emergency humanitarian assistance totaling 100 million dollars, or 11.6 billion yen in Japanese yen, to five neighboring countries such as Ukraine, Poland and Hungary.



Specifically, through UNHCR = United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and ICRC = International Committee of the Red Cross, we will deliver daily necessities such as tents and blankets, food, water, and medicines to the site.



The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says, "We would like to cooperate with the international community to provide support that is close to the Ukrainian people who are facing national difficulties."
